FAQ
Common questions.
What is GoDorm?
GoDorm is a student accommodation and arrival-services platform. We help international students book a verified room near their university in 250+ cities, then sort the things you need around it: airport pickup, a SIM or eSIM, student insurance, forex and money transfer, a bank account and student deals. You deal with one team, on WhatsApp, phone or email, from your first question until you've moved in.
Is GoDorm free to use?
Yes. Searching, comparing and booking through GoDorm costs you nothing extra. You pay the rent and deposit set by the property, the same as booking with them directly, and we never add a booking fee on top. Partner services such as forex, insurance and SIM cards are often discounted for GoDorm students.
How is GoDorm connected to TIRO Education?
GoDorm is part of the TIRO group. TIRO Education helps you choose a university and get your offer, TIRO Global Finance helps with education loans, scholarships and forex, and GoDorm takes over once you're ready to move: your room, your arrival and your first weeks abroad.
Are the properties verified?
Yes. Every listing is checked before it goes live, covering ownership, photos, pricing and contract terms, so the room you book is the room you get. Most properties on GoDorm are purpose-built student residences run by established operators. Before you pay anything, we confirm availability and the exact price with the property, and you sign your contract with the property itself.
What happens if my visa is refused or my university place falls through?
Many of our partner properties offer flexible cancellation if your visa is refused or you don't get your place, usually when you can show the refusal letter or the university's decision. The exact terms differ from property to property, so we show you the cancellation terms for each room before you book, and you can ask us to shortlist only rooms with this kind of protection.
How early should I book?
In high-demand cities like London, Dublin, Amsterdam and New York, aim for 4–6 months before your intake. Elsewhere, 2–3 months is usually enough. The best-value rooms, and the ones closest to campus, always go first, so it pays to start as soon as you have your offer. If you're booking late, tell us your move-in date and we'll focus on rooms still available.
